Looking Back: Some of Our Favorite Bedrooms from 2017

Relaxing and rejuvenating master bedrooms you'll want to spend all day (and night) in.

An Airy Bedroom in Oak Park

This master bedroom was part of a larger two-story addition in Oak Park. The airy bedroom features a vaulted ceiling which is accentuated with glossy beadboard and a chandelier. A dark stained oak floor contrasts the warm gray room and white trim. Built-in wooden plantation shutters elevate the windows. Walnut furniture and a white pin-tucked duvet complete the look.

Sitting Room inside a Lincoln Park Bedroom

These homeowners wanted to include a sitting room inside their new master suite. The armchairs offer a comfortable place to begin the day and wind down at night without having to go as far as the main living room. In a large family, a private retreat is an additional perk.

To the green-gray textured wallpaper and dark stained oak floor, the homeowners thoughtfully added a few colorful and textured decorations including an oriental rug, a piece of art, and a macrame bench.

A Jefferson Park Attic Transformed

We transformed this unfinished attic into a master suite. The bedroom feels taller thanks to a vaulted ceiling, which is accentuated by wooden beams and pendant lights. The addition of skylights makes this space bright and cheerful.
