Are you craving color and contrast in your kitchen? Earlier this year we wrote about the blue kitchen cabinet trend and today we’re back with another trending cabinet color — green. We’ve been pinning green kitchens all year and we wanted to put our favorites — and their paint colors — in one place for you!
1. Emily Henderson’s Portland Project Kitchen in SW Pewter Green
Emily Henderson had us pining for green cabinets when she debuted her Portland Project kitchen, pictured above, last fall. The cabinets and island are painted Sherwin Williams Pewter Green, a dark gray-green, and complemented by marble counters and Sherwin Williams Oyster White walls.
2. Kelsey Leigh’s Kitchen in SW Pewter Green & Ripe Olive
Kelsey Leigh went with a custom blend of the same Pewter Green and the slightly darker Sherwin Williams Ripe Olive for her kitchen. Black counters and a marble backsplash create extra drama, and the green pairs well with white oak, another trending finish.
3. Making Pretty Spaces’ Kitchen in BM Quarry Rock
Making Pretty Spaces is in the middle of her kitchen reno and we can’t wait to see the final product! She painted her Shaker cabinets Benjamin Moore Quarry Rock, also a dark gray-green, and paired them with a concrete counter and white Cafe appliances.
4. Chad Esslinger’s kitchen in BM Rainy Afternoon
Chad Esslinger designed this kitchen with Benjamin Moore Rainy Afternoon cabinets and a geometric cement tile backsplash for the sink wall. While these cabinets appear lighter than those above, the paint colors actually have very similar LRVs.
5. Chris Loves Julia’s Kitchen in SW Thunderous
For Chris Loves Julia’s budget Modern Cottage Kitchen Makeover, the DIY couple repainted their existing cabinets, island, and backsplash with the moody Sherwin Williams Thunderous. They report that this chameleon color changes from green to charcoal to blue throughout the day.
6. Le Clair Decor’s Pinefield Kitchen in BM Black Forest Green
Leclair Decor’s Pinefield kitchen is painted Benjamin Moore Black Forest Green. This cabinet color is a darker and more saturated green, and together with the brass hardware, it brings a touch of glam to the kitchen.
7. Renovate 108’s Kitchen in BM Narragansett Green
8. Jean Stoffer’s Fair Oaks Kitchen in Eden Green
If you prefer more of a true green, Jean Stoffer’s Fair Oaks kitchen is painted with her custom cabinetry line’s Eden Green, which she describes as a “deep olive green with brown undertones.” She’s inspired by English kitchens which have used dark tones like these for years.
9. Sarah Sherman Samuel’s Kitchen for Mandy Moore in FB Mizzle
For a completely different look, Sarah Sherman Samuel’s kitchen for Mandy Moore is painted a light sage, Farrow and Ball Mizzle. This playful Mid-Century Modern kitchen pairs the green with pink accessories and brass accents.
10. Juniper Home’s Evergreen House Kitchen in BM Nantucket Gray
Green is a versatile color that works well whether your style is modern or traditional, cottage or glam. It can have a calming effect, as it brings the color of nature indoors, but it can also be moody or energizing, soft or bold. Remember that the light quality, photo editing, and monitor settings can all affect the way a color looks, so be sure to test large samples in your kitchen before committing to a color!
